shipping forecasts with creative writing to give the reader a pleasant and calming read whilst using words that spark the imagination, something the forecasts do. I can use layout to take the forecasts through the forecasts.

With the nature of the identity I created, being quite contemporary with spaced kerning, I want to produce a piece of editorial which is in keeping. I'm going to look into producing a contemporary piece of design which allows the imagery i've sourced and photographed to relate and link to the forecasts speak. The project is based around the visual language of the shipping forecasts therefore should allow the visuals to speak.
Within the book itself the visuals should take on an emotive role sparking feeling and mystery. Although this book is a personal reflection on my project I want it to form a flowing piece of design and writing that takes the reader on a personal journey also with the help of creative writing. |

Right is a PDF of all of the written up chapters in my book. There are 11 chapters covering a few interesting areas of the shipping forecasts, interviews, my opinions as well as outcomes.
With the forecasts taking on a poetic and enigmatic nature it felt right for the book too also and with the research being a large part I decided to write the book in a reflective manner. The content is written emotively which brings in many different visual connotations and filling the mind with many scenes. |
